Your Dog. Our Family. Their home from home.
We know it isn’t easy handing over care - especially when your dog is family. That’s why our home dog boarding on the Isle of Wight is designed for one family at a time, with our home (and our hearts) completely focused on your dog.
Inspired by our beloved Lilly, we understand how much even the smallest change can affect a dog’s wellbeing - a delayed mealtime, a stray treat, a moment of overexcitement, or a sudden change in temperature.
Every detail matters, and that understanding shapes the way we care for each guest who stays with us.
Our calm bungalow is perfectly suited to calm, small to medium and senior dogs, or those that thrive in a calm enviroment. It’s a place of quiet routines, gentle company, and thoughtful touches - like the little step Chris built to help them climb onto the bed or reach their favourite sunny window seat. From soft blankets to slow walks and healthy treats (blueberries, raspberries, carrots - if allowed), everything we do is guided by your instructions and handled with patience, kindness, and love.
At Lilly’s Bespoke Boarding, our home really is their home - a safe, nurturing space where they can rest, play, and feel completely at ease.
Over the years, we’ve come to understand just how much even the smallest change can affect a dog’s health and happiness. A stray absent-minded treat, a burst of over-excitement, or a sudden change in temperature - things that might seem minor - can have big consequences for a dog with sensitivities or medical needs. That understanding sits at the heart of everything we do here.
Chris has always had a natural way with animals. He worked in a kennels when he was younger, where he learned how to make dogs feel at ease and cared for. My own background is in pharmacy, where being thorough, calm, and reliable was second nature - qualities that naturally carry through into the way we look after our guests.
I (Sarah) am home throughout the day, so your dog will always have company, comfort, and care close by. Whether it’s an unhurried stroll in the garden, a soft blanket for an afternoon nap, or help with medication and special diets, every detail is handled with patience and love.
Your dog lives with us as part of the family. They have their own cosy room to sleep in, complete with soft dog beds and even a full-sized bed if they prefer a little extra comfort. They have free run of the house during the day; they choose where to rest, if they want company, if they want quiet time. We believe every dog deserves to rest how they feel happiest - whether that’s curled up in their own bed or snuggled into a blanket on the sofa.
Our enclosed garden is fully secure, with double-gated access to prevent any accidental slips or escapes. We also use PitPat GPS trackers on each guest’s ID tag for added peace of mind. There’s an inner porch too, so one door always remains closed, keeping everyone safe as we come and go.
We share our home with Honey, our spaniel, who has her occasional bursts of silliness, and Pixie, our playful puppy. Most of the time they’re content to snooze the day away while I work, but they do have lively moments that bring a touch of joy and gentle energy into the house. Lilly used to look at them with that familiar raised eyebrow and sigh - as if to say, “Really?” - and her calm presence still sets the tone for how we care for every dog that stays with us.
When it comes to walks, we tailor everything to each dog’s needs and abilities. There are gentle pavement routes for slow sniffing strolls, shady stream paths for curious explorers, and open fields for relaxed wanders, or gentle games and sniffs in the garden. Every dog enjoys two periods of exercise a day, always at their own pace.
Inside, the atmosphere is calm and homely. There’s a log burner for snoozy evenings, a sunny window seat that’s perfect for watching the world go by, and plenty of enrichment toys like snuffle mats, frozen delicious treats and puzzles for curious noses.
We even have our own little Paw Spa area - to ensure dogs can have belly and paw washes in a warm, safe and quiet environment. They can even book in for a full spa experince complete with mud bath for skin health and, from June 2026, will be offering a grooming service whilst they stay.
Treats are healthy and simple - blueberries, carrots, raspberries, or a few pieces of high-quality kibble - all given only according to the owner’s instructions.
Every part of our care is guided by what you tell us. Lilly taught us how much even the smallest change to a diet or medication can matter, so we follow your routines closely and with care.
At Lilly’s Bespoke Boarding, our home really is their home - safe, nurturing, and filled with the small comforts that make all the difference.
Lilly’s Bespoke Boarding is run by Sarah and Chris from our home on the Isle of Wight.
Sarah spent many years working within the NHS across hospital and hospice settings in pharmacy, before moving into teaching the next generation of pharmacy professionals. She later trained as a therapist and has also studied a range of holistic therapies, including massage. Her approach to care has always been rooted in observation, patience, and understanding the individual - something that carries through into how she works with dogs.
She has been around animals for most of her life, having grown up with both horses and dogs. Following an accident, horses are no longer part of day-to-day life, but that connection to animal care has remained a constant. Sarah holds a Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare, is trained in canine first aid, and is currently working towards a Level 3 grooming qualification.
Chris is an Isle of Wight local and works as a design engineer alongside his role within Lilly's. He also brings hands-on experience from working in a kennel environment when he was younger, along with a calm, practical approach to dog care. Chris is also trained in canine first aid.
Together, we provide a calm, home-from-home environment, caring for one family of dogs at a time, with a focus on thoughtful, individualised care.
We share our home with our own dogs, Pixie and Honey, who are very much part of daily life here and play an important role in how visiting dogs settle.
Pixie, our cavalier, is very much the entertainer and emotional support dog. She’s often the one to show new arrivals where everything is - the best places to wee, where the water bowls are, where the shade is, where the toys are kept, and of course, where to wait for treats.
Honey, our cocker spaniel, is a more sensitive soul. She notices even the smallest changes and acts as a quiet barometer within the home. She is happy to share her space, whether that’s a gentle play or simply snoozing alongside visiting dogs.
Both girls play an important role during meet and greets. Their responses often tell us a great deal, helping us to ensure that each dog we welcome is the right fit for our calm, home environment.
And not forgetting the most wonderful Lilly, our tri-coloured cavalier, whom we sadly lost in August 2026. Just the most sassy, judgmental, stoic and characterful dog you could ever hope to meet. She taught us so very much and inspired the very way we have built Lilly's. Thank you gorgous girl.
